JPMorgan to lead the retail sale of ANT, with up to a fifth of the deal for individuals
Anthropic is reportedly building a big retail tranche into what could be the largest IPO ever.
Anthropic has picked JPMorgan Chase to lead US sales of IPO shares to individual investors, Bloomberg reported late Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter. The company has weighed setting aside about 15% to 20% of the shares in the offering for retail buyers. Talks are ongoing and the figure could change. Anthropic, JPMorgan and Citigroup declined to comment. This is reported, not confirmed.
According to the report, JPMorgan is coordinating outreach to wealthy clients, private-banking customers and brokerage platforms, and CEO Jamie Dimon is expected to take part. Citigroup is set to run the international retail offering. The S-1 lists offerings in Australia, Canada, Japan, certain European Economic Area countries, Switzerland and the UK. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley still lead the overall deal.
Bloomberg also reports that investors have told the deal's bankers their idea of a fair valuation has moved to roughly $1.4 trillion to $1.5 trillion, with about $1.75 trillion seen as possibly achievable. There is still no price range or share count on file.
